Why?

I was on Technorati (blog search engine) one day parusing "family" blogs and you know what I found? A whole lot of sites NOT for fathers! Most of the top 50 were laced with words like mom, momma, breastfeeding, boob (seriously), even hobo popped up there; all for moms.  Even the ones dubbed "parent" were driven more toward mom than dad.  This is a desolate landscape for dads. Just two of the top 50 were dedicated to dads. I doubt you've found them. Fitting in with our male mantra "dont talk about it," it seems the blogoshere hasn't found it's father niche yet. But I know men read blogs. I know men talk online, just usually about sports, women, politics and business. Why not read (and talk) about being a dad and encourage other dads you know to do the same?

So why?

Because dads are important.  Sometimes dads seem to be the missing link or the forgotten members of the family, at least in terms of support.  There are sites for kids and sites for moms and while there might be sites for dads, well, let's just say I know of a lot more sites geared toward supporting kids and moms.

Come here for support, encouragement and "guy stuff," geared toward fatherhood.  And while your at it, could you help me out a bit too?  I'll post my own insights, experiences (good and bad), questions, tools and resources that might be helpful and anything else I find that might give you a good read, a good laugh or both.  In the end, I hope you're encouraged to be a better, more involved man and dad.
